A Simple Weekly Snack Prep Routine With Reusable Bags

If your week runs better when snacks are ready to grab, a short prep session on Sunday can save a lot of scrambling. Here is an easy routine that works for lunches, school bags, road trips and desk drawers.

1. Pick your base snacks

Choose three or four items that keep well: nuts, dried fruit, crackers, granola, cut veggies, cheese cubes. Mix and match so each day feels a little different.

2. Portion into reusable bags

Small reusable silicone bags are handy for single servings. Our reusable silicone snack bags come in several sizes, from 6 oz for a handful of almonds up to larger bags for sandwiches or leftovers. Fill, press the seal closed from one end to the other, and label with a piece of tape if you like.

3. Use stand-up bags for bulk items

For things you reach for often, such as trail mix, granola or pasta, a stand-up bag keeps everything upright and easy to pour. Our stand-up food storage bags with handles fit neatly in a fridge door or pantry shelf, and the handle makes them simple to carry.

4. Keep produce airy

For fruit and vegetables, a breathable cotton bag works well in the fridge drawer. Try our cotton muslin produce bags for greens, herbs, apples or carrots, and wash them when they need it.

5. Wash and reset

After the week, rinse or wash your bags, let them dry completely, and store them flat. Next Sunday, you are ready to go again.

Quick checklist

  • 3-4 base snacks
  • One bag per portion
  • Stand-up bags for bulk items
  • Cotton bags for produce
